More Than a Competition — Welcome to the JOVYA School Network.

Many schools still run on paper records, spreadsheets, printed report cards and scattered WhatsApp messages. JOVYA is built to help schools move towards a more organised digital environment: a stronger online presence, organised academic reporting, and clearer communication with parents.

De Historian 2027 is how your school gets started with that network, and the network is meant to be useful long after the competition is over.

The one requirement to take part

To take part in De Historian 2027, a school must join the JOVYA School Network by selecting and paying for one of the JOVYA School Digital Packages.

That package payment is the only financial requirement. There is no separate competition entry fee and no additional compulsory purchase.

  1. De Historian 2027

The educational history competition. Its winners receive the announced awards.

  2. JOVYA School Network

The digital school network that participating schools join.

  3. JOVYA School Digital Package

What your school selects and pays for to join the network. It provides the digital services and benefits of the package.

Once your registration and payment have been verified, your school is eligible to take part. Buying a package does not guarantee winning: the awards go to the competition winners only.

What joining gives your school, step by step

  1. Join JOVYAChoose a package and complete payment.
  2. Establish your school’s digital presenceA dedicated online home for your school.
  3. Organise academic reportingFrom score entry to approved results.
  4. Improve parent communicationAnnouncements, result alerts and feedback.
  5. Participate in De Historian 2027Compete for the announced awards.

A professional home for your school online

JOVYA aims to give each participating school its own school website or dedicated web presence within the JOVYA ecosystem, so you do not have to design and build a whole website yourself.

  • A professional digital identity for the school.
  • Your school name, logo, profile and other relevant information in one place.
  • Somewhere parents and prospective families can learn about the school.
  • Important school information presented online instead of passed around by word of mouth.

Picture a parent who has just heard about your school. Instead of relying on a forwarded flyer or a phone call, they have a proper place to find out who you are and what you offer.

From marks to parents: the whole result journey

The purpose is to support the full result journey, from preparation and review through to parent access, not simply to display marks online.

  1. 1

    Organise your school information

The school sets up its pupil, class, subject and teacher information.

  2. 2

    Teachers enter scores

Teachers record academic scores and assessment information for their assigned pupils and subjects, where this functionality is available.

  3. 3

    Results become structured reports

Academic information is organised into structured result reports.

  4. 4

    The school reviews and approves

The appropriate school authority checks and approves results before they are released.

  5. 5

    Parents access approved results

Parents can view approved results through the school’s designated digital result-access process, where supported.

  6. 6

    Records build up over time

The school keeps a more organised record of academic progress, subject to the available record-retention arrangements.

What this means in practice

  • Less reliance on scattered spreadsheets and paper-based result preparation.
  • A more structured way to organise academic information.
  • A clearer review and approval process for school management.
  • More convenient delivery of approved results to parents.
  • Easier retrieval of academic information where historical records are retained.
  • Better visibility into each pupil’s progress over time.

Talking to parents, more systematically

JOVYA intends to help schools communicate with parents in a more organised way, for example by:

  • Sharing school announcements and reminders.
  • Letting parents know when results are ready.
  • Sharing links to school news, events and activities.
  • Making important school information easier to pass on.
  • Keeping parent engagement consistent rather than ad hoc.

JOVYA’s planned WhatsApp integration is meant to use a channel parents already know, while giving the school a more structured way to send its messages.

Hearing from parents about a child’s progress

Where supported, schools can ask parents for feedback through structured forms or secure links, such as:

  • Reading practice at home.
  • Homework and learning habits.
  • Parents’ observations about their child’s progress.
  • Feedback a teacher has asked for.
  • Other school-approved questions about learning and development.

This encourages teachers and parents to work together, and helps the school understand a child’s learning beyond the classroom.

One organised digital environment

Depending on the package and the functionality available, the JOVYA School Network brings these school activities together:

  • School website and profile
  • Class and pupil organisation
  • Teacher and subject assignments
  • Results preparation and approval
  • Digital access to approved results
  • School–parent communication

The aim is to reduce reliance on disconnected tools and help your school build its digital operations over time, one step at a time.

An honest note on availability. The descriptions above explain what the JOVYA School Digital Package is designed to provide. JOVYA is introducing its capabilities in stages, and some depend on how a school is set up, for example parent result access and WhatsApp messaging. JOVYA will confirm what is available to your school when you join. If a particular feature matters to your decision, call or WhatsApp 09016390981 before you pay.

Questions schools usually ask

Is there a separate fee to enter the competition?

No. The package payment is the only financial requirement. There is no separate competition entry fee and no additional compulsory purchase.

Does paying for a package mean my school will win?

No. The package makes your school a member of the JOVYA School Network and, once verified, eligible to take part. Awards go only to the competition winners, not to every participating school.

Why must a school join the network to take part?

De Historian 2027 is organised for schools in the JOVYA School Network, so joining through a package is the condition for participation. It also means that every school that takes part receives the digital benefits of its package, whether or not it wins.

What happens after the first period?

The four-month package is ₦25,000 for the first four months, then ₦20,000 for each subsequent four-month period. The annual package covers 12 months for ₦50,000.

Is my place secure once I have paid?

Your place is reserved when you submit your payment details, and confirmed after JOVYA has checked the bank transfer. You can follow this at any time on the status page.
